Democracy and Power:  The 100 series

The purpose of the 100 series is to succinctly explain how democracy in America functions.  Using short definitions and current examples, the intent is to inform the voting public of how political decisions are made and their effects on Americans.

Republicans and Democrats operate similarly, though most often pleasing different constituencies. This series will attempt to expose the quest for power, glory and privilege by the politicians and interest groups.

Because the Democrats control the Presidency, the Senate and House, there will more examples of their use of power.  However I reiterate, both the Democrats and Republicans operate similarly.  I do not respect either party.  Alas, I respect few politicians.
